NOAA Boulder's Tour Group

NOAA Boulder has put together a virtual tour of their campus; along with some important information for scheduling a tour. Come take a look!

Important Touring Information

Touring Information

At this time visitors to NOAA Boulder need to be US citizens or permanent residents with a valid green card.
Foreign nationals will need special approval.

All tours are free and last 90 minutes. Guests need to arrive early for security prior to tour start time.

Public Tours

The weekly public tour is on Tuesdays, 1:00-2:30pm.

Group Tours

Group tours are typically scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00-11:30am. Groups less than 10 people should sign up for the Tuesday public tour. Group tours have a maximum capacity of 40 people total. To schedule a tour email noaa.dsrc.tours@noaa.gov.

Security Procedures

Visitors are required to sign in and receive a visitor badge. Park next to the Visitors Center and enter. Security personnel will make a badge and conduct screening.

U.S. Citizens must present a U.S. photo ID, such as a current state driver’s license.
NOTE: Effective July 21, 2014, under the REAL ID Act of 2005, federal agencies can only accept a state-issued driver’s license or identification card for access to federal facilities if issued by states that are REAL ID compliant or have an extension. You can find additional details on the DHS website.

Other accepted forms of ID include:

      1. Passport
      2. Passport card
      3. DOD CAC card
      4. Federal Agency HSPD-12 IDs
      5. Veterans ID
      6. Military ID
      7. Military Dependents ID
      8. Trusted Traveler card – Global Entry, SENTRI, or NEXUS
      9. Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
  1. All IDs must be originals only – no photocopies accepted.
  2. Security personnel will conduct a vehicle inspection prior to entrance of the site.

Directions

  1. Exit Denver International Airport via Peña Boulevard.
  2. Take Peña Boulevard to I-70 West.
  3. Split right on I-270 North (Exit 279), toward Ft. Collins and follow across I-25 to US-36 toward Boulder.
  4. Take US-36 (Boulder Turnpike) West.
  5. Exit US-36 at Baseline Road (University of Colorado Main Campus exit).
  6. Keep left and turn left (West) onto Baseline.
  7. Keep left and turn left at the first light onto 27th Way.
  8. Stay in the middle lane and turn left onto Broadway.
  9. Take the second right at the light onto Rayleigh Rd. and bear right into the Visitors Center parking lot.
Toll Road Option:
  1. Exit Peña Boulevard at E-470 and follow to US-36. Current toll information can be found at: www.expresstoll.com.
  1. Regional bus service to Boulder is available through the Regional Transportation District (RTD).
    1. The AB bus provides service between Boulder and the Denver International Airport.
    2. The FF buses provide regional service between Denver and Boulder from the Broadway & Baseline and Broadway & Dartmouth stops.
    3. Broadway & Rayleigh Road is the closest stop to the Visitors Center and is also served by the Skip and Dash local bus routes.
  1. Green Ride  provides service from the airport to locations in Boulder.
